The Wii is a video game that attempts to defeat some of the stereotypes that video games typically share. Video games have typically been given a bad reputation because they take children away from exercise, and place them in front of a television or computer. Video games are often seen as bad habits. The positive aspects of hand-eye coordination and relaxation are typically down-played, but the Wii seeks to destroy the negative perceptions about video games and enhance the positive features. Wii keeps the relaxation and intensifies the body coordination that video games can produce. In addition, it keeps its players on their feet and moving around.
In addition to the fact that the Wii helps people to stay exercised and motivated, it is also much more affordable than other game systems that Nintendo’s competitors SONY and Microsoft have offered. The SONY Playstation 3 has been priced around $600, the Microsoft Xbox 360 is priced between $300-$400 and the Wii is around $250.
Since it originally hit the market in 2006, the Wii has shown that the value of a video game does not depend solely upon the detailed graphics that it can produce. The Wii has clearly set a new trend that has boosted Nintendo’s game system sales higher than Sony’s or Microsoft’s. SONY and Microsoft are both working to produce game systems that are more activity driven like the Wii.
With over 700 games now available for the Wii, this game system is one of the most versatile systems available on the market today. Join the Wii family so that you can see firsthand why the Wii game system is superior to its competitors.
